On Monday, April 17, 2023, the Thirteenth Episcopal District, led by Bishop E. Anne Henning Byfield, united with Bishop William J. Barber, II and others in support of eradicating gun violence.

St. James AME Church in Mayfield, Kentucky is completely destroyed as a result of the tornadoes which caused catastrophic damage in Kentucky and Tennessee on December 10, 2021.
